Valentine's has an interesting history, starting in Rome with the Lupercalia festival, but most commonly associated with Saint Valentine, the christian martyr. As the story says, the Emperor Claudius II beleived that single men were stronger in battle and outlawed marriage for young men, but Saint Valentine defied his orders and secretly married couples. Later on being found out and imprisoned until he was executed on February 14th, and now everyone in the world celebrates it as a day dedicated to love and the joy of being with that special person. So much history behind a day and that leads us to here- right now in this moment. It's crazy to think about how such small acts can change the future, if the history were different and Saint Valentine followed orders, this would be a regular friday for us, but it's not. That's what matters all these little changes affecting our lives and setting us on a certain course, I'm grateful for the past, for the bad and for the good, because at the end of the day I'm right where I want to be, with you. I'm not sure how different my life would be or hell all of our lives if just one event in history hadn't happened, I could be an entirely different person, living in an entirely different place with an entirely different personality. Maybe there's a reason we're here together, or maybe there's not, either way I'm just happy that I'm able to be here and that I even have the chance to be with you, thank you so much for everything :'( Happy Valentine's Day :) <3
